Does John Cena Have His Eyes On The Captain America Role?

As most people know by now, Avengers 4 will more than likely be Chris Evans swan song as Captain America. Needless to say it has been an emotional subject for fans who have a hard time seeing anyone else in the red, white, and blue. Since that news was made available, fans have been making thoughts known on who should fill Evans huge shoes. This includes two Marvel heroes already on the MCU roster Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon, and Bucky Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier or recently, The White Wolf.

Recently, another well known performer sent out an Instagram post perhaps throwing his name into the ring for the role of Captain America. Earlier this today, WWE wrestler and actor John Cena posted this image.

With no text written, Cena simply shared an image of Captain America’s battle-damaged shield from Captain America. Does this mean that he would like to play the role as Cap after Chris Evans moves on, or does he have another modus operandi? Who knows, but one things for sure, he wouldn’t have to spend a bunch of time body blasting for the physique. Could he handle the acting part? If it came to that, we would see. In the meantime, file it under just another name to consider once the real Captain America moves on.

Do you think John Cena could fill the void left by Chris Evans if he so chose to do so? Or would you rather see Sam or Bucky take on that mantle? Share your thoughts on who should be The First Avenger with us at GVNation.

I suppose it would depend on who his alter ego would be. If he wants to be Steve Rogers, then no. I can’t see anyone playing Steve but Chris Evans (at least until an entire reboot of the MCU happens). If it’s someone else, I’m still not sure, but I’d be willing to give it a shot. If he’s found to be wanting, they can always hand the mantle over to Bucky or Falcon. If it was solely up to me, though, it would be Bucky with the shield.
