In the category of you can’t believe everything you read, rumors had begun to swirl that Matt Reeves’ The Batman is finally gearing up to go into pre-production, however, this is apparently not the case.

It was confirmed by Heroic Hollywood editor-in-chief Umberto Gonzalez that Reeves has yet to finish the script and is not expected to deliver the script until after Labor Day. It was Reeves himself who previously stated that he hopes to begin production on the project in the spring or summer of 2019.

Perhaps production itself could begin at the end of this year, however, Warner Bros. and DC Films will shoot both Birds of Prey and The Flash standalone film before production on The Batman begins. So patience will be the order of the day as we await the latest in our continuing story of (key in soap opera music) “Where, is The Batman?”

Are you disappointed that the news is not what you had hoped to hear or is it par for the course these days. Share your pain with us a GVNation.
