Doom Patrol: Weight of the World #3 Review

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”29098″ img_size=”411×623″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Doom Patrol is back and watch out for Planet Cliff!

At least that is was Mento is scared of when the Doom Patrol gang finds him. Danny is dead and Jasey is around instead of Jane. I think that that is maybe some story direction that I didn’t particularly like. To have someone other than Jane as the primary personality isn’t something that we are used to and considering the complexity of Jane, I didn’t much like having someone else calling the shots.

Weight of the World #3 is essentially a journey episode, where the crew attempts to find Larry, while running into Gar. Who is in his chimp form. Rita is also all goopy, so it was definitely a whacky issue visually. As the Doom Patrol attempts to navigate their way through the dimensions, it’s clear that everything is going to be turned upside down after the events of the end of the issue.

Spoiler alert: Jasey convinces Larry to send her to the Underground where she can navigate the train inside Jane’s mind. I had really hoped that we would have actually seen some of Jane’s personalities there. I hope that #4 will involve some of them, as Crazy Jane is certainly a favorite character in the Doom Patrol world.
