There are times when “no news is good news” and there is a time when “no news” means “no news” and might be highly disappointing. Drew Goddard, who is known for co-writing and directing the Cabin in the Woods, which he wrote with Joss Whedon, is supposed to be working on his latest superhero project, X-Force. He was recently asked how the X-Force project was progressing.

It was while speaking with Fandango about his upcoming film Bad Times at the El Royale, that Goddard gave an update on the project. This is where the disappointment might come in:

“There’s no real update to be honest.”

Knowing he couldn’t just leave it there, he elaborated on his “nothing new to see here” statement:

“I tend to focus very intensely on one movie at a time. We’re just sort of finishing Bad Times now, Ryan [Reynolds] is off shooting a movie and everyone sort of scattered, like dandelions to the wind. I think as we finish this up, we’ll all get together and start hammering out what we want to do next, but there’s no real update at this point.

Are you disappointed that there are no updates on the XForce film or are you of the mindset that it’s how things tend to work in Hollywood and you are willing to be patient? Make your opinions be heard at GVNation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
