Allen Media Group Motion Pictures will be premiering director Steven Grayhm‘s emotional drama Sheepdog exclusively in theaters on January 16, 2026. The film is a moving and cathartic journey, giving voice to stories and experiences we seldom see on the big screen. The film stars Grayhm, Vondie Curtis Hall, Virginia Madsen, Dominic Fumusa, Lilli Cooper, and Matt Dallas.

This is a film 15 years in the making – Grayhm spent over a decade travelling the country speaking to veterans and their families and consulting with mental health professionals and trauma therapists to craft a deeply empathetic, authentic, and original story about inner healing, sacrifice, and resilience. Grayhm also made it his mission to involve veterans in the filmmaking process, including 17 military veterans in roles both in front of and behind the camera.

GVN has been provided with an exclusive clip from the new film ahead of its debut which you can find below:

SHEEPDOG | “Angel On Your Shoulder”

Synopsis: Decorated U.S. Army combat veteran Calvin Cole is court ordered into treatment and into the care of a VA trauma therapist in-training. Things become even more complicated when Calvin’s father-in-law, a retired Vietnam Veteran, shows up on his doorstep having just been released from prison. As Calvin’s plan to run from his past becomes even more challenging, he learns through the support of his community, tough love and compassion, that he must put himself back together again for his family – and for himself.

Two men sit together on outdoor steps, bundled in winter clothing, smiling and talking. Film title "Sheepdog" and credits appear below them.
