When most people plan outings with their friends, they go to restaurants or to museums. A type of outing that’s not especially common is a sports outing. The reason for this is that most people view sports and fitness-related activities as necessities, not things that they do for fun. The gym is more of a chore than it is an enjoyable activity.

If you are a fan of sports (and so are your friends), then why not participate in group sports for your next outing? This post will tell you about a few group sports and sport-related activities that you and your friends can do:

    Gel Balling

Gel balling is a very popular sport that’s similar to paintballing. Instead of paintballs being fired, gel balls are fired, and other than that it’s more or less the same. Gel balling is a lot safer and much more fun, not to mention that gel balling doesn’t hurt half as much as paintballing does. If you want an outdoor sport that’s a lot of fun and that you and your friends can immerse yourselves in, then gel balling is definitely one to consider. One of the best things about gel balling is that you don’t need a lot of experience to get started. As long as you have a weapon, ammunition, and somewhere to play, then you can get involved. You should always wear safety equipment whenever you are playing any sport that involves firing projectiles at people.

    Kayaking

Kayaking is a very popular sport. Most people view kayaking as something that’s done alone, but it doesn’t have to be. If you have enough kayaks for you and your friends, then you can all go out and hit the water together. Kayaking is arguably a lot more fun when you have other people there with you. The reason for this is that you can race each other, talk, and enjoy each other’s company. You are also a lot safer when you go kayaking with other people since you have people there to rescue you in case you are injured.

    Rugby

Rugby is a sport that’s typically played in teams. If you have a large group of friends, then you can all play rugby together. The only thing with rugby is that it can be very violent at times, so if your friends do not like contact sports, then it’s not a sport that’s worth playing. With that said, it is possible for you to minimise the contact that’s involved by playing touch rugby. In touch rugby as soon as you touch the person who’s holding the ball, they have to release it.

    Basketball

Basketball is a lot of fun. You don’t have to have a large group of friends to play it, either. As long as there are more than three of you, then you can divide yourself into teams and play. You only need one basketball to play it, too, which means that you don’t need a lot of equipment. You can find public basketball courts in nearly every town in the United States. If there isn’t a public court near you, then you can go and play in a private gym or a leisure centre instead.

    Rock Climbing

Rock climbing is another sport that, like kayaking, is often seen as one that’s performed alone. You don’t have to perform rock climbing alone, however, since it’s much more fun when you invite friends. If none of you has any rock climbing experience, then it is a very good idea to attend an indoor rock climbing centre, where you can be supervised by professionals. You shouldn’t attempt to go rock climbing on a mountain or outdoors until you have all of the necessary equipment and a lot of experience. Trying to do so can result in you seriously injuring or even killing yourself.

    Skateboarding

Lastly, if you want to have a lot of fun with your friends, then why not consider going skateboarding? A lot of people view skateboarding as a sport for teenagers, but that’s not true. In fact, some of the world’s best skateboarders are adults and still make money from it today. Skateboarding can be challenging to pick up later in life, but it’s still something that you can do. If you want to learn to skateboard, then as with rock climbing, it’s good to attend a course with your friends, so that you can all pick it up at an equal pace.

If you and your friends are going on an outing, then why not play some sports? Sports is good for your health and can be a lot of fun. If you and your friends take a liking to any of the sports that you take up, then you could all consider taking them more seriously and joining a team.
