Hollywood-based Epic Pictures Group is gearing up for the U.S. release of the highly anticipated feature film, “Before I Change My Mind,” directed by award-winning filmmaker Trevor Anderson. The film, heralded as a “tender and knowing coming-of-age story” by IndieWire, is set to hit select theaters on March 1, 2024, followed by a digital platform release on March 5, 2024. As an exclusive treat for fans, Epic Pictures Group is offering an exclusive clip from the film.

“Before I Change My Mind” made its mark on the international stage by premiering in competition at the 2022 Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. Since then, it has garnered acclaim at various festivals worldwide, including BFI Flare presented by the British Film Institute, the Oslo/Fusion International Film Festival, and Festival Mix Brazil.

Directed by Trevor Anderson and written by Anderson & Fish Griwkowsky, the film is produced by Katrina Beatty and Alyson Richards, with executive producers Trevor Anderson, Justin Lachance, Patrick Ewald, and Nick Adams. The stellar cast includes Vaughan Murrae, Dominic Lippa, Lacey Oake, Matthew Rankin, and Shannon Blanchet.

Set against the backdrop of 1987, “Before I Change My Mind” explores the intricacies of adolescence. While the other students speculate about their new classmate’s gender, the protagonist, Robin, forges a complex bond with the school bully, navigating a series of increasingly dangerous choices to find acceptance. What makes this coming-of-age tale unique is its innovative screenplay, where the protagonist’s gender is intentionally left undisclosed.

Patrick Ewald, Epic Pictures Group CEO and Executive Producer, expressed the film’s importance, saying, “Bringing ‘Before I Change My Mind’ to the screen is not just about representation; it’s about celebrating the diverse narratives that shape our world. Working on ‘Before I Change My Mind’ with visionary director Trevor Anderson, along with incredible producers Alyson Richards and Katrina Beatty, was a wonderful opportunity to amplify voices, foster understanding, and contribute to a more inclusive cinematic landscape.”

As the U.S. release date approaches, the exclusive clip provides a sneak peek into the film’s compelling narrative and promises an emotional journey that will resonate with audiences. The film’s ability to navigate themes of identity, acceptance, and the struggles of adolescence positions it as a must-watch in the realm of contemporary cinema.
