Ewan McGregor Will Voice Jiminy Cricket in Guillermo del Toro’s Upcoming ‘Pinocchio’ Film

Pinocchio (1940) is one of those animated movies that we pretty much all grew up on. And while we live in the age of live-action remakes, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Pinocchio will get the same treatment. Now it should be mentioned that Pinocchio has gotten the live-action treatment before, even as recently as 2019. But, a new remake is getting a different spin with Guillermo del Toro, who will helm an upcoming stop-motion animated film. So, it’s a remake, but not live-action and is based on the Gris Grimly rendition. The upcoming film will be released on Netflix in 2021.

There’s now new news released in regards to del Toro’s film. Such as, the amazing Ewan McGregor revealing he’s voicing Jiminy Cricket in the upcoming Pinocchio.

McGregor has had quite a streak lately with his part in Birds of Prey as Black Mask. As well as his upcoming reprisal as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a planned Disney+ series. His inclusion in the Pinocchio film will surely please fans. Especially since it’s a very well-known role. McGregor joins Ron Perlman, Tilda Swinton, Christoph Waltz, and David Bradley. So, it’s an impressive cast with an impressive director.
