Directed by Swedish filmmaker Fansu Njie, Stand Your Ground is a relentless revenge thriller that combines emotional stakes with bone-crunching action. Njie reunites with Daniel Stisen (Netflix’s Last Man Down), who leads the cast as Jack Johnson, a former Special Forces operative whose quiet homecoming turns into a blood-soaked mission of vengeance.

Plot Summary

After Jack returns home with his pregnant wife (Roxi Kravitz), a vicious assault led by local crime boss Bastion (iconic actor Peter Stormare) ends in tragedy. Jack strikes back, killing one of the attackers in the heat of the moment, only to be imprisoned for six years.

Upon release, he uncovers a twisted truth: the men behind the attack were Bastion’s sons. With nothing left to lose, Jack invokes the Stand Your Ground law to lure Bastion’s eldest son, Leon (Michael Billington), into a deadly trap — igniting a violent chain reaction that spirals into an all-out war.

With assassins descending on his fortified home and corruption bleeding into every corner of his small town, Jack must fight not just for survival, but for justice. As the bullets fly, allies emerge — including Bastion’s conflicted daughter Molly (Isobel Laidler) and Sheriff Dwayne (Patrick Regis) — but the final reckoning is Jack’s alone to face.
