Fan Fest 2018 invades the Music City

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Nashville, TN – This year the great folks behind Heroes and Villains and Walker Stalker Con decided to combine the two great conventions into one MEGA Convention and thus Fan Fest was born.

If you are fan of such shows as Arrow, Gotham, The Walking Dead, and more then Fan Fest was the place you wanted to be.  The stars of your favorite superhero and zombie shows invaded Nashville for 2 solid days of fun and memories. Some of the biggest names made their way to spend time with fans from all over the United States, stars such as Jeffrey Dean Morgan who plays Negan on AMC’s The Walking Dead, Norman Reedus (Walking Dead), Stephen Amell (Arrow), Robin Lord Taylor (Gotham), Brandon Routh (Superman Returns, Legends of Tomorrow), Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) and much more.

For two great days you could meet and greet your favorite actors and actresses, get autographs and even have the chance to take some great photos for the lasting memory. I got a chance to mingle with a few of the attendees and they were thrilled to be able to give back to the fans and thanked everyone for taking the time to come out. While many families might choose Disney World for a vacation spot, Fan Fest Nashville was the destination thousands chose to spend their time and money at. For many, these conventions are their vacations and the actors and actresses make sure to give back to everyone who comes out.

The convention offered some great panels this year starting off with Arrow’s Stephen Amell who kicked things off for everyone. There were also great panels from John Barrowman (Doctor Who, Arrow),Legends of Tomorrow cast, Michael Cudlitz (The Walking Dead), the cast of Battlestar Galactica, and even Michael Rooker from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Fan Fest is not just about meeting your favorite heroes and villains, there were many great vendors and artists on site. This years badges were designed by the very talented Rob Prior who I got meet while he was drawing an awesome Tom Hardy/Venom poster. Rob likes to draw while rocking out to great music and I shocked to see that he can draw with both hands at the same time.  There were plenty of booth’s set up for great artwork from many artists like the Bearded Artist, Michael Kulick, Bruno Digital Illustration and many more.

If you wanted souvenirs for collecting or to get autographed then you did not have to look far as there were numerous booths with great collectibles from Funko Pop to action figures to even props used in some of your favorite shows.  Love Negan? There were lots of prop Lucille bats for you to purchase and take home.

Fan Fest has a great kids zone for the little ones. If you wanted a break and the kids wanted to play you could take them over to the Family Fun Zone for chance to catch your breath while the kids run around enjoying all the activities the convention had to offer.

Last but not least what would a convention be without some awesome cosplay? There were so many great outfits from this years convention that ranged from Harley Quinn to Negan to Spider-Man. Some outfits were home made, some where store bought and some even looked like they were made from a Hollywood studio but everyone seemed to be having a great time and that is what these events are all about.

The two days went by so fast but I am already looking forward to the next time they come to Nashville. I want to thank the fine folks at Heroes and Villains/Walker Stalker Con for allowing us to cover the awesome event and make no mistake, Geek Vibes Nation will be back next time as well. I captured some great images from the event and you can check those out below.[/vc_column_text][vc_images_carousel images=”3339,3340,3341,3342,3343,3344,3345,3346,3347,3348,3349,3350,3351,3352,3353,3354,3355,3356,3357,3358,3359,3360,3361,3362,3363,3364,3365,3366,3367,3368,3369″ img_size=”400×532″ speed=”3000″ autoplay=”yes” wrap=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
