There is a lot of speculation circulating Avengers 4. What is going to happen? Who will come back? Who will die? What we do know, is that Chris Evans’s contract is up and he is willingly stepping away from the MCU.
“You want to get off the train before they push you off.” Chris Evans is cited saying about his reasoning for leaving.
As much as I would love for Captain America to retire happily while the newer generation of MCU superheroes goes off to save the world, we all know that as long as there’s a fight to be had, Steve Rogers is not backing away. Which, means it’s a huge possibility that he will most likely die a heroic death in Infinity War’s sequel. It would almost be poetic for both he and Iron Man to meet their end; the two who have essentially been the foundation for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
One fan has a theory for Cap’s fate and a mid-credit scene that has been gaining some traction.

This definitely pulls at the heartstrings. As we all remember, Peggy Carter was a woman who means so much to Steve Rogers. She was a strong woman who is essentially credited with starting SHIELD. Carter and Rogers met in Captain America: The First Avenger, where Carter was a military officer who Rogers developed feelings for and vice versa. Their romance never did get off the ground, as Rogers was presumably killed while preventing an attack on American soil. By the time he was found and unfrozen, Peggy was already an elderly woman and died in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
While we can all guess about what is going to happen in Avengers 4, Infinity War and its sequel’s co-writer Christopher Markus stated,
“[Avengers 4] doesn’t do what you think it does. It is a different movie than you think it is…Also…[the deaths are] real. I just want to tell you it’s real, and the sooner you accept that, the sooner you will be able to move on to the next stage of grief.”
Avengers 4 is scheduled to be released May 3, 2019.
