First Look at Amazon’s New Show ‘Aeronauts’

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Hot-air balloon expedition is not a common plotline for most shows on TV, but it will be for Amazon’s upcoming ‘Aeronauts’ series. Set in 1862, the show will see the reunion between Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones, who both formally worked on the Oscar-winning ‘The Theory of Everything’ together. The show, according to Variety, will tell the tale of a young widow and ambitious scientist as they go on a journey of self-discovery. Tom Harper will be the director for Aeronauts and the show will be produced by Amazon and Sony studios.

In a newly released photo, we see Redmayne and Jones inside a hot-air balloon, performing their scene. What you may not know is that this picture is completely authentic; Redmayne and Jones are really 2,000 feet above the air. The scene was captured by a helicopter and according to Todd Lieberman, this scene was made possible due to both actors being complete daredevils. Not sure if I would have the dedication to act out my lines that high up in the air!

“We’re fortunate that Felicity and Eddie have the nerve to do these stunts themselves as it authenticates our entire approach.” – Lieberman stated.
