Synopsis:
Inspired by the viral New York Magazine article, Hustlers follows a crew of savvy former strip club employees who band together to turn the tables on their Wall Street clients.
Today, via Jennifer Lopez’s Youtube page, we got the first official trailer for the upcoming film, Hustlers. Featuring a star-studded cast including Lopez herself, Hustlers is a modern-day Robin Hood story. However, in this story, they finesse the rich and give to themselves. Based on an article by Jessica Pressler, the story is very real and focuses on the crafty Roselyn Keo. The film follows a group of midnight ballerinas(exotic dancers) that are fed up with a system that favors those who lie, cheat, and steal. Noticing a rigged system, they decide to flip the script and take it to those who they deem are not deserving. Dancers versus Wallstreet. Sounds intriguing to me.
Lastly, the cast includes a list of strong, beautiful women including, Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Julia Stiles, Cardi B, and Lizzo. The film is produced by STX Entertainment, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Jessica Elbaum’s Gloria Sanchez Productions, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, along with Jennifer Lopez. It’s written and directed by Lorene Scafaria. The film releases on September 13, 2019. Trailer below.
