First Look at Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story Reboot Revealed

The story of forbidden love, this tale of the Jets and the Sharks is like a modern day Romeo and Juliet – set in the late 50s, early 60s. A new image has been shared by Amblin where you can get a first look at the cast for this musical.

Ansel Elgort plays Tony, Rachel Zegler plays Maria, Ariana DeBose plays Anita, David Alvarez plays Bernardo, Mike Faist plays Riff, Josh Andrés Rivera plays Chino, Corey Stoll plays Lieutenant Schrank and Brian d’Arcy James plays Sergeant Krupke. Rita Morena will play Valentina, who is an expanded and reimagined version of Doc, who is the proprietor of the corner store that Tony works at. Morena originally won an Academy Award for her role as Anita in the 1961 version of West Side Story.

Spielberg’s West Side Story will hit theaters on December 18, 2020 – are you excited?
