With one story ending another arises. The Walking Dead will end with season 11, which is airing now, but spin-off shows are in the works. There is a planned spin-off show with Daryl (Norman Reedus) and a series with Rick Grimes and Michonne. The Rick Grimes series was meant to be a trio of movies but plans changed and the limited series was announced at Comic Con in San Diego.
During New York Comic Con this year we got our first look at the 6-episode season 1 for the Maggie and Negan spin-off and a release date. The series will be titled The Walking Dead: Dead City.
The series is set to release in April of 2023 and the logline says the two are “traveling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland,”. This would mark the first time we’ve seen the group in New York City and there are no telling what adventures await the pair.

Maggie and Negan are an unlikely pair but this season of The Walking Dead has seen them at odds but slowly overcome their differences, especially Maggie who has a strong reason for hating Negan. If you’re a fan of these two then next April should make fans extremely happy.
