As a huge fan of the Mortal Kombat franchise and the first Mortal Kombat movie, nothing pleased me more than the trailer we got today for Simon McQuoid’s Mortal Kombat. Packed with action, suspense, martial arts, blood and gore, the trailer had it all.
Two of my all time favorites, Scorpion (Hiroyuki Sanada) and Sub-Zero (Joe Taslim), were front and center. We also get some brutal shots of Jax (Mehcad Brooks) losing his arms to Sub-Zero, Kano (Josh Lawson) getting in some one-liners and using his eye beam.
We also got glimpses of Raiden (Tadanobu Asano), Liu Kang (Ludi Lin), Lewis Tan’s mystery character Cole Young – I think he has some lineage with Scorpion but that remains to be seen, Jessica McNamee as Sonya, Chin Han as Shang Tsung and Sisi Stringer Mileena.
