We just had a list full of the Golden Globes nominees, now comes the SAG awards. The Screen Actors Guild Awards looks to recognize all of the great performances in movies and TV the previous year. I can already tell you that Marriage Story, the Irishman, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood are garnering a lot of nominations. Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag is unsurprisingly grabbing a lot of noms and I’m going to happily point out that Tony Shalhoub has a nomination for his part in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Both Peter Dinklage for Game of Thrones and David Harbour for Stranger Things are in the same category and that is really unfair to pit my love for love against each other.
Christian Bale deservingly so got a nomination for Ford v Ferrari and Mahershala Ali deserves his nomination for True Detective. Joey King and Patricia Arquette got nominations for Hulu’s The Act, which it is hard to say who out of the two had the better performance. Of course, Joaquin Phoenix got a nomination for Joker, Jodie Comer deserves to win for Killing Eve, and Andrew Scott deserves all of the praise for his portrayal of Hot Priest. I want both Waller-Bridge and Rachel Brosnahan to win, but they’re in the same category, so only one will be the victor – although everyone on this list deserves to be winners.
