As the world fell, young Furiosa (Anya Taylor-Joy) is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus (Chris Hemsworth). Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.

Video Quality
The 4K UHD Blu-Ray of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga offers a fabulous presentation in its original 2.39:1 aspect ratio, but a standard Blu-Ray is not included to judge the level of upgrade. There are some unbelievable feats of production design featured in the film which you can greatly appreciate with this transfer. Numerous landscapes are presented here with each location providing wondrous detail ready for exploration. Every location is brought to life with the precision of an expertly authored disc. Skin tones are likewise natural with rich doses of crisp detail apparent on faces such as sweat, grime, and makeup.
The Dolby Vision refines the colors to the ideal levels in terms of accuracy and spectacle. The expanded range of the color spectrum is why this format was created. This film features unique locales and characters that are a treat to see on screen. Color contrast and unforgettable lighting schemes provide a sumptuous frame as the applications of HDR make the film shine. Compression artifacts and banding are nowhere to be found with this 4K UHD disc. The black levels are robust, staying deep and inky with great detail. The highlights in the film are deeply refined with whites pure and balanced with no instances of blooming to be found. Elements occurring in the cover of darkness are striking and finely delineated. Warner Bros. has delivered a praise-worthy transfer on this latest 4K release.
Audio Quality
This 4K UHD Blu-Ray comes with an earth-shaking Dolby Atmos audio mix that delivers the experience one demands for this franchise. There is a flurry of activity in the surround channels, but that never impedes the clarity of exchanges. Dialogue is clear and is never trounced by any competing sounds. The height channels are used to impeccable effect with objects passing overhead and other unbelievable sonic discoveries. All sounds emerge from the appropriate directions, and there are no technical issues with the track. There is an onslaught of activity in the low end that moves the room with authority. This is a multifaceted track that provides tons of powerful sound effects and a fantastic score from Tom Holkenborg to bring it all together. This one will make the most of your surround sound system.

Final Thoughts
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is a worthy prequel to the classic Fury Road that channels the ethos of that film while slowing things down to give this outing a distinct identity. There are some thrilling set pieces birthed from the mind of George Miller, but the action is nowhere near as consistent as Fury Road. We trade such moments in for deeper thematic resonance, which works well with our title character both as a child and in a mature form played with ferocity by Anya Taylor-Joy. Chris Hemsworth delivers one of his best performances to date as our main bad guy covered in prosthetics. If you are not judging it only against its predecessor, this is top-shelf visionary filmmaking. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released a 4K UHD Blu-Ray featuring an awe-inspiring A/V presentation and a welcome selection of special features. Fans should buy with confidence. Highly Recommended
