On Game of Thrones, you have to hand it to the Lannisters. While some Houses are going the way of the Dodo, i.e. The Freys almost the Tarleys, the House of Lannister endures. Tywin would be so proud of that. If you interpret what Nikolaj Coster-Waldau says,  it’s possible they make it through to the end. In an interview with the Huffington Post, Waldau explains:

“It was a surprise,” Nikolaj Coster-Waldau tells HuffingtonPost. “God, every time we got a new script I thought, ‘OK, this is probably going to be the one.’ But no. The Lannister kids made it to the end.”

The word “end” is where the interpretation begins. Does he mean to the VERY end, as in the last episode or the end as in the last SEASON. It is a Lannister gift to say words that can mean two different things to keep their opponents off guard…and it helps HBO that Waldau keeps people guessing as well.

Waldau wasn’t finished dropping teasers to both enthrall and torture fans eager to see the series conclusions.

“I wrote the writers when I finished reading and just said, ‘I don’t think you could’ve done a better job at finishing this story.’ To me, it was very satisfying but also very surprising and all the things that I was hoping for,” Coster-Waldau said. “It still made sense. It wasn’t like one of those where the killer is suddenly revealed in the last act and you go, ‘Oh! I didn’t see that coming.’ Here, they’ve done a really, really good job.”

Do the Lannisters make it through to the end or is Jamie just being cryptic as his fathers (Tywin and HBO) taught him? What do you think he meant by that? Share us your hypothesis at GVNation.
