Game of Thrones Prequel Series Will Begin Production in Early Summer

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14916″ img_size=”800×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]While Game of Thrones still has a few months to go before debuting its eighth and final season, but information for its prequel series have started arising. Though there hasn’t been a titled assigned to the series yet, we have confirmation that production will begin early summer, as I’m sure HBO wants to ride the hype of Game of Thrones’ final season.

This prequel series will be directed by SJ Clarkson of Jessica Jones and will star Naomi Watts, Naomi Ackie, and Denise Gough. According to EW, this show is based on a concept that the showrunner Jane Goldman developed with author George R.R. Martin and apparently there are writer’s working on scripts for additional episodes if they’re ordered.

The official synopsis is as follows:

“Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.”
