Geoff Johns Says DC Universe Shows Are In a Shared Multiverse

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”7684″ img_size=”740×431″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]It is New York Comic Con week and we have gotten lots of interesting news when it comes to DC and its newly launched streaming service, DC Universe. During the Titans premier on Wednesday we learned Matt Bomer has joined Doom Patrol as Negative Man and we saw the first trailer for Harley Quinn plus we learned Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco will be voicing her. Yesterday during the DC Universe panel Geoff Johns told the audience that we would be seeing a version of Deathstroke on an upcoming season of Titans as well as Judas Contract being adapted for the series at some point. Johns also was interviewed by ComicBook and shared a little bit of news concerning where these shows will exist in the universe.

“It is much like the multiverse in the comics, and I don’t think there’s any hard, fast rules saying that Stargirl and Swamp Thing aren’t in the same universe as Titans and Doom Patrol. Right now I’m just working on Stargirl and trying to make Stargirl the best Stargirl TV show it can possibly be. Whether it connects to another show down the line is open-ended.”

We know that Titans will help set up Doom Patrol this season so we know those two shows will exist in the same universe. Swamp Thing for the time being seems to be set in its on world but that does not mean we won’t see some sort of cross over in the future. I fully expect Stargirl, Titans, and Doom Patrol to all eventually crossover at some point and that will be an awesome event when it does happen. As Johns stated he is currently working hard on Stargirl which is set to debut in 2019.

How do you feel about the shows being in a shared multiverse? Do you hope to see them crossover for an event or even for certain shows? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
