German Studio Daedalic Working on ‘The Lord of the Rings: GOLLUM’ Video Game

German game developer Daedalic has partnered with Middle-earth Enterprises to develop and publish a new game, which Lord of the Rings fans might consider, “Their Precious.” As announced on Monday, Daedalic is working on their upcoming title, Lord of the Rings: Gollum which is set to release in 2021 on PC and “all relevant console platforms at that time.” This action-adventure game is set to follow the years of the popular J.R.R. Tolkien character after he acquired the One Ring but before the events of The Lord of the Rings novels and films. Which is to say we get to know what happened after he killed to get the ring and how he got so …shall we say different than he did when he started.

Carsten Fichtelmann, CEO and co-founder of Daedalic Entertainment, told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview what some of the dynamics of the game might be:

You already have that big conflict in the character, two voices talking to you continuously, which means there is a good reason there are decisions to make in the game: the Sméagol decisions or the Gollum decision.

Would you like to play game based on the popular character Sméagol who was so well played in the film by Andy Serkis? Share your “precious” thoughts with us at GVNation.
