Synopsis:
A long time ago in a distant fairy tale countryside, a young girl leads her little brother into a dark wood in desperate search of food and work, only to stumble upon a nexus of terrifying evil.
A teaser trailer dropped on September 4th by Orion Pictures for their upcoming fantasy/horror movie, Gretel & Hansel. It seems to me, we are getting a more accurate depiction of the dark, Grimm fairytale, Hansel and Gretel. Originally a sinister tale, it was often made bright and whimsical even though it dealt with a cannibalistic witch. The story has been attemted in film before, they were all failures. Despite this, I have faith in this film after seeing this teaser. Gretel & Hansel stars Sophia Lillis (IT), Alice Krige, Jessica De Gouw (Arrow), Samuel Leakey, and Charles Babalola (Black Mirror). Furthermore, the movie doesn’t seem to be a rated yet but I’m hoping for an R-rating. I want all my horror with an R-rating. Written by Rob Hayes and directed by Oz Perkins, the movie is set to release on January 31, 2020. Stay tuned for more details. What do you think, does it look good?
