We have had the pleasure of looking at a number of the fun offerings from Wandering Planet Toys. From The Prisoner, Laurel and Hardy, and Carl Kolchak: The Night Stalker. Now, the creative team of Co-Founders Chris “Doc” Wyatt and Gavin Hignight has created a new original line inspired by Kenner Toys’ 1978 Star Wars action figures and their off-the-wall competitor, Tomland Toys’ Starroid Raiders – introducing PLANETOID RAIDERS! Coming soon to Kickstarter!

…Our PLANETOID RAIDERS figures honor the imaginative history of knock off space figures, but push a modern approach, marrying outrageous design with bold colors and a retro space age aesthetic.
Wandering Planet Toys Co-Founder Gavin Hignight – About Starroid Raiders
Starroid Raiders are everything that is magic about toy collecting to me. The vibe, the memories and visions they evoke. These are toys for toys’ sake. They possess an element of time travel for me. They take me back to being a kid, when the universe we lived in was so large and grand and beautiful, when ideas, daydreams and hope were limitless. Just being that small kid, in the toy aisle, looking at the bright colors and rayguns, laser swords, the different shaped alien heads and space themed card art. These were and are toys that fire up the imagination…”

What stands out most when looking at the Planetoid Raiders is the intentionality behind every sculpt line, accessory choice, and lore detail. Each character represents the kind of worldbuilding you can only achieve when creators genuinely love the medium — when they treat toys not as merchandise, but as storytelling artifacts. Time and time again, Wandering Planet Toys founders Chris “Doc” Wyatt and Gavin Hignight have proven this to be true. And with the upcoming Kickstarter campaign, fans are about to get the chance to help bring that story to life in the way Wandering Planet does best. Collaboratively, passionately, and with a wink toward the classics that shaped us.
