GVN Home Entertainment Release Round-Up May 9-15: Tom Holland, Wes Craven, Alfred Hitchcock On 4K & More

We at GVN aim to keep you informed of the newest and best in home entertainment week in and week out. For the week of May 9th, we have some incredible releases making their way to our shelves. Read on to get the full rundown of what you should have on your wishlist, plus take a chance to check out what Michael and I are spotlighting on The Video Attic this week.

This week welcomes several recent releases to home entertainment. First up, we have one of the most successful video game adaptations of all time, Uncharted, debuting on physical media. We recently had a chance to check out the action-packed adventure on 4K UHD Blu-Ray, and Sony knocked it out of the park with its stunning Dolby Vision presentation and Dolby Atmos audio, not to mention a fine assortment of special features including an audio commentary from director Ruben Fleischer.

Elsewhere in the world of studio dramas, Warner Bros. is releasing MGM’s roadtrip tale Dog starring Channing Tatum on Blu-Ray. If you are more independently minded, RLJE Films is releasing the crime-thriller Clean starring Adrien Brody and the showbiz satire The Beta Test from Jim Cummings. One of the most exciting releases to drop this week is the second installment of The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection on 4K UHD Blu-Ray, which includes the 4K debut of five of his classic films. The first installment was one of our favorite releases of 2020, and we have no doubt this will rank high for us by the end of the year. If modern horror is more your speed, Scream Factory is releasing the Wes Craven werewolf feature Cursed starring Christina Ricci, Jesse Eisenberg, Joshua Jackson and more on a packed 2-Disc Collector’s Edition featuring both the PG-13 and R-Rated cuts of the film newly remastered from a 4K scan.
