A couple in spacesuits kisses while floating among rocks, with large red tentacles and the word "HOWL" in large letters above them.

In December 2024, we had the opportunity to interview writer Alisa Kwitney about her latest series with Mauricet for Ahoy Comics, titled “HOWL”. This imaginative series has been described as “a witty bohemian sci-fi that is best summarized as The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers.” Set in Greenwich Village during the late 1950s, “HOWL” explores the impact of alien spores on the area’s free thinkers and creative souls, examining how these changes affect their relationships.

Fast forward to the present, and the series has reached its 4th issue. “Married to a 1950s science fiction writer possessed by an extraterrestrial being, Ziva begins—shockingly—to explore the outrageous possibility that their romance has a future.” Now, thanks to our friends at Ahoy and the creative team of Kwitney and Mauricet, we present this exclusive 5-page preview of issue 4. (Warning: this does include some comic book nudity.)

A couple kisses in space suits under a giant alien tentacle, while astronauts float and watch among scattered rocks in a cosmic setting. Comic book credits page featuring blue illustrations and text listing titles, authors, illustrators, and contributors for three stories, along with publisher information at the bottom.

A woman stands in a cluttered living room with her family, as red tentacles emerge from the couch. Comic panels show conversations about motherhood and personal change. Text: "SUBVERSION.

A man opens his apartment door to a concerned neighbor; inside, a young man with a bloody hand stands near a nude woman as the neighbor is shocked by the bloody injury.

A comic page shows people talking on stairs, a woman in a spacesuit encountering aliens, and a young woman turning into a robot after a machine injects her with fluid.

Comic page showing a man washing a woman's hair in a bathtub while they have a conversation about bath products and skin care; she looks annoyed, then amused.

A couple has an intimate moment, followed by a colorful, whimsical explosion illustration; later, they talk casually while sitting naked on a couch.

A colorful comic book cover with stylized figures, mushrooms, stars, planets, and the title "HOWL" in bold letters at the top.

Ahoy Comics Howl, Issue# 4 by Alisa Kwitney, Mauricet and Rob Steen comes to Comic Shops on April 30th.
