Interview promotion featuring comic art. Text mentions artist Vinné, Clover Press, "The Art of Vinné," and "My Way" on Kickstarter. Colorful urban artwork background.

Budding artist Vinne started sharing his artwork on Instagram in 2018. He quickly gained an international following due to his anime-inspired creations. His talent caught the attention of the music industry, anime and the fashion world. This success also came to the notice of Clover Press, a publisher recognized for producing quality books that promote talented artists. Recent publications featuring artists such as Michael Turner, David Nakayama, Ray Toll, David Mack, and Alex Maleev highlight their commitment to showcasing unique artistic voices.

Soon, Clover Press will release Vinne’s work to the public through Kickstarter with The Art of Vinne – My Way, a collection of his art created between 2018 and 2024. In advance of this campaign, we had the opportunity to talk to the artist about his artistic beginnings, his use of Instagram to share his work, and his upcoming book with Clover Press. So, let’s welcome the talented artist Vinne to GVN Talking Comics.

    Artist Background

GVN: Thanks for sharing a few moments of your time, Vinne. As is our norm with first-time guests, let’s start with your artistic background. When did you first take an interest in art and whose work inspired your love of the media?

Vinne: My first contact with art, which was not too different from any other kid who grew up when I did (around late 2010s), was through Japanese culture in general. It took me a little time to understand how important it was, but this exposure built most of the base thoughts in my art. My most important inspirations were Yoshitaka Amano and Yoshiyuki Sadamoto.

    The Influence of Anime

GVN: As I reviewed your impressive body of work, I certainly noticed the strong influence of anime on your style. What draws you to that genre, and how long did it take for you to develop your unique artistic voice?

Vinne: Anime wasn’t that cool back then. I feel that nowadays every artist who grew up watching and getting inspired by anime culture ended up developing a unique style derived from their favorite anime and transforming that into something cool. I am one of them, and I’m more than grateful for the influences I received.

    The Power of Instagram

GVN: You began sharing your talents on Instagram. As an artist myself, I understand that it can be challenging to showcase your work to the public. Did you experience any doubts about how people would react to your art, or were you always confident in your abilities?

Vinne: Never confident enough, I’d say. Sometimes you must study more than art, it is about selling an idea and understanding how to catch people’s curiosity like “What will they do next?” It is an exchange of interests after all, and I really like how it works. It’s like a puzzle.

    Partnering with Clover Press

GVN: You are now working with the great people at Clover Press and Clover Press Publisher Hank Kanalz on a book that showcases your work, “THE ART OF VINNE – MY WAY.” How did this project come about and how hard was it to choose which of your pieces to include?

Vinne: I’m grateful for the opportunity, and I really appreciate the Clover Press team pushing more into the anime world. I think that there are a lot of artists like me that would love to have the same opportunity, and people definitely would support them! It was harder only to choose the early works. The latest works, I love most of them.

    Kickstarter

GVN: Clover Press will be using Kickstarter to fund the creation of this exciting book. Have you been involved in a crowd-funding campaign before and what can fans expect when they visit this campaign?

Vinne: I’ve never done something like this. People should expect it will be my first time ever selling real signed sketches and special items that I’m only doing with Clover Press!

GVN: Thank you so much for your time, Vinne. Before I let you go, I want to allow you to tell fans where they can follow your work and about your upcoming book: “THE ART OF VINNE – MY WAY.”

Vinne: I’m always on my Instagram @vinne.art, and sometimes on X @vinneart. Keep an eye out and get notified about the artbook via the link in my bio. Thank you so much for the massive support!
