GVN Talking Comics Preview: Mad Cave Studios ‘Over the Ropes, Vol.2: Broken Kayfabe’ by Jay Sandlin and Antonello Cosentino, Coming June 29th

If you are a wrestling fan and a comic book fan, you no doubt caught Mad Cave Studios Over the Ropes by Jay Sandlin and Antonello Cosentino. It was an entertaining homage to the wrestling world of the 90’s with many nods to wrestling legends you might remember. If you haven’t checked it out, by all means do so. If nothing else, it will get you ready for the next volume in the series.

Starting June 29, Mad Cave Studios, Jay Sandlin and Antonello Cosentino return to the ring for Over the Ropes: Broken Kayfabe. The story continues with the young champion Phoenix trying to hold onto the belt while a rival wrestling organization led by his estranged father, Buddy Peacock tries to take it over. Soon, the rules and Kayfabe go out the door, the window, and “over the ropes,” as the conflict escalates and becomes personal. As most family matters are!

Synopsis:

The gloves come off when a rival promotion led by Jason’s estranged father, Buddy Peacock, invades the SFW’s hit TV show; Explode. When Courtney, wrestling under the moniker Scorch, is injured, Jason must choose between family and fame in a bout with permanent stipulations. When the final bell rings, it’ll be Phoenix vs. Peacock — father vs. son, in a main event for the unified championship. Will Phoenix rise again or lose it all in a puff of smoke?
