Gwyneth Paltrow Will Retire From the MCU After Avengers: Endgame

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”16023″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]We had all thought Gwyneth Paltrow had left the Marvel Cinematic Universe when she was absent from Captain America: Civil War when Tony expressed that he and Pepper were going through a break, but we were then all subsequently surprised when she appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Since then, Tony and Pepper had been planning a wedding and Tony’s goodbye message in the beginning of the first trailer to Avengers: Endgame was Tony speaking to Pepper.

Now, the actress has confirmed that she’s retiring from the MCU after Endgame:

“I mean, I’m a bit old to be in a suit and all that at this point,” Paltrow, 46, told Variety in this week’s cover story. “I feel very lucky that I did it, because I actually got talked into it. I was friend with [‘Iron Man’ director] Jon Favreau. It was such a wonderful experience making the first ‘Iron Man’ and then to watch how important it has become to fans.”

Despite this, Paltrow does say she is open for cameos or flashbacks:

“I feel honored to be a part of something that people are so passionate about,” she said. “Of course, if they said, ‘Can you come back for a day?,’ I will always be there if they need me.”

What do you think about Paltrow’s departure from the MCU and how do you think her story will end?
