Halt and Catch Fire Co-Creators To Helm Amazon Prime’s Adaptation of ‘Paper Girls’

Amazon Studios has given Paper Girls the green light. The Studio is moving forward on the TV series based on the best-selling comic book series by creators Brian K. Vaughn and Cliff Chiang. Toy Story 4 writer Stephany Folsom will write the series. Additionally, Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers will produce and showrun the new show. Cantwell and Rogers were the co-creators of one of the most underrated shows of the 2010s, Halt and Catch Fire.

Paper Girls is a comic book set in the 1980s and centers on a group of young girls who operate a newspaper route. The ‘Paper Girls’ find that they are way out of their comfort zone when they come across some strange alien tech and mysterious creatures.

Folsom, Cantwell, and Rogers expressed their excitement:

“As huge fans of what Brian and Cliff created in ‘Paper Girls,’ we couldn’t be more excited by the opportunity to bring this incredible adventure to life. This is a story with so much heart, and so many unique colors and dimensions — our sincere hope is not only to do justice to the source material, but to make ‘Paper Girls; unlike anything else currently on TV.”
