HBO Cancels Game of Thrones’ Prequel Series That Would Star Naomi Watts

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”9412″ img_size=”913×571″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]We have big Game of Thrones news here. EW has reported that HBO has canceled its plans for a prequel series that would have starred Naomi Watts and have taken place thousands of years before the original series. While the network shot a full pilot episode earlier this year, it reported has not been picked up.

While this prequel series is scrapped, there is still another prequel series in the works that focuses on The Targaryen Civil War. Whether this is picked up or scrapped or why Naomi Watts’ prequel series is canceled, we don’t know.

Even though the original Game of Thrones did not have a successful pilot episode, HBO still gave it a chance to recast and reshoot and it went on to be one of the most successful shows of all time. That being said, the last season of GoT left a bad taste in the mouths of many, so who knows if this had something to do with the cancellation as well.

How do you feel that Watts’ prequel series has been canned?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
