Everything Coming To HBO Max In October 2026

HBO Max is making room for a lot of horror this October, but the month’s lineup has more on its mind than Halloween. A new legal drama starring Dominic West and Sienna Miller, two A24 films and Sydney Sweeney’s The Housemaid lead the arrivals, alongside a Kate Berlant comedy special and new documentaries.

The biggest batch lands October 1, when The Shining, The Exorcist, Trick ’r Treat and several A Nightmare on Elm Street films join the service. Viewers after something a little less intense can turn to Coraline, ParaNorman and Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, while the Ocean’s movies offer an entirely different kind of movie marathon.

War Brings a Messy Celebrity Divorce to Court

Premiering October 1, War follows two rival London law firms fighting over the divorce of tech entrepreneur Morgan Henderson, played by Dominic West, and film star Carla Duval, played by Sienna Miller. Archie Renaux stars as Johnny Warren, a young lawyer pulled into a case where professional ambition and personal loyalties are unlikely to sit comfortably together.

Created by George Kay, the HBO/Sky drama also stars Phoebe Fox, James McArdle, Nina Sosanya and Pip Torrens. Its eight episodes will arrive weekly on Thursdays.

EVIL DEAD BURN Begins Streaming Exclusively On HBO Max October 2

New Line Cinema’s / Warner Bros. Pictures’ EVIL DEAD BURN will make its global streaming debut exclusively on HBO Max on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2. The film will debut on HBO linear on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3 at 8:00 p.m. ET, following special showings of EVIL DEAD (2013) at 4:45 p.m. ET and EVIL DEAD RISE at 6:20 p.m. ET.

The Housemaid Arrives October 9

Sydney Sweeney plays Millie, a woman trying to move beyond her past who takes a live-in job with a wealthy couple. Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar play Nina and Andrew Winchester, whose home turns out to be a much more dangerous workplace than Millie expected.

Paul Feig directs the adaptation of Freida McFadden’s novel, with a screenplay by Rebecca Sonnenshine. The Housemaid joins HBO Max on October 9.

A24 Adds The Death of Robin Hood and The Invite

Hugh Jackman’s Robin Hood is carrying the weight of a violent past in The Death of Robin Hood, arriving October 16. Written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, the film follows a gravely injured Robin as a mysterious woman offers him a possible path toward redemption. Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, Noah Jupe and Faith Delaney also star.

Then, on October 23, The Invite turns a dinner with the upstairs neighbors into trouble for an already strained marriage. Olivia Wilde directs and stars alongside Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton, working from a screenplay by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones.

Kate Berlant, Rage and Two New Documentaries

Rage (Furia) returns for its second season on October 9, with eight episodes rolling out weekly on Fridays. The series follows women confronting a system that can turn even their suffering into entertainment and profit.

Kate Berlant’s new stand-up special, Parmesan, follows on October 16. Filmed at Los Angeles’ Plaza Nightclub and directed by Doron Max Hagay, it moves through personal stories, technology and sexuality with Berlant’s digressive approach to comedy.

For documentary viewers, The Pet Cemetery Murders: A Ghost Story begins October 11. The three-part series revisits a Louisiana murder case from 1985, with episodes arriving weekly on Sundays.

Kordell Stewart: Slash & Burn arrives October 27. Through interviews with Stewart and people who knew him, the documentary examines the former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback’s career and the personal damage caused by a malicious rumor that followed him beyond football.
