HBO Max’s Love Life Renewed For a 2nd Season That Will Focus on a New Character

HBO Max’s Love Life concluded its first season today by releasing the final four episodes. Love Life followed Anna Kendrick’s Darby Carter throughout the season, showcasing her from her first love to her last. Love Life was described as an anthology series, which means each season would follow a different character. This means we will be saying goodbye to Darby as a second season is no longer a hypothetical – it’s officially happening.

HBO has picked up Love Life for a second season. A press release teases that season two:

“Will remain set in New York City but will focus on a new character’s journey — one which explores what happens when you’ve lived your whole life knowing who your soulmate is, only to find out years into a marriage that it’s not the right fit at all.”

Luckily, creator and co-showrunner Sam Boyd and co-showrunner/executive producer Bridget Bedard will return for season two. Kendrick will be returning in a sense – as an executive product.

HBO states:

“The new season will also cleverly key off characters in season one, and Darby (Anna Kendrick) will appear occasionally.”
