HBO’s Watchmen has been considered one of the best shows and comic book iterations on TV in recent years. While fans immensely enjoyed season one, it seems that a season two won’t happen. This is due to creator Damon Lindelof expressing disinterest in continuing the story. HBO programming chief Casey Bloys stated [about Lindelof]:
“…brilliantly took this graphic novel and just kind of broke it open and created a whole new world.”
Lindelof did give his blessing to HBO to do another season if they wanted to, but Bloys states that that is unlikely:
“It would be hard to imagine doing it without Damon involved in some way.”
This isn’t the first show to end before fans wanted it to, though; I have heard from a lot of fans that they would be okay with just having one season. Still, season one ended on a cliffhanger, so I guess it’s up to fans to simply imagine what they think happened next. How do you feel about The Watchmen not coming back for a second season?
