One of the internet’s longtime couples is separating following allegations of infidelity. Ethan and Hila Klein met in Israel in 2007 and went on to build a life and several businesses together. The couple married in 2012 and share three children.
They are best known for h3h3Productions, the YouTube channel they launched in 2011, and later the H3 Podcast. Hila also founded the fashion brand Teddy Fresh. The Kleins became particularly notable within the YouTube community after prevailing in a landmark copyright lawsuit in 2017, when a federal judge ruled that one of their reaction videos constituted fair use. The U.S. Copyright Office’s Fair Use Index details the ruling and the court’s conclusion that the Kleins’ commentary was transformative.
Now, their marriage is facing an uncertain future. In an Instagram statement posted on October 23, Hila Klein accused Ethan of having an affair lasting more than six months and said she is navigating a separation from her husband.
According to Hila, she had suspected something was wrong for months and initially received dismissive responses when she raised her concerns. She alleged that Ethan eventually admitted to an affair after she confronted him over inconsistencies in what he had told her.
“The betrayal I feel is immeasurable,” Hila wrote in part, adding that she is currently focused on taking care of herself and their children while navigating separation and co-parenting.
The announcement came shortly after it was revealed that the H3 Podcast was going on an indefinite hiatus. Following Hila’s statement, members of the podcast’s production team released their own statement expressing support for her and saying they had unanimously agreed they would not continue working with Ethan involved or profiting from the show.
The crew also made clear that the future of the H3 Podcast remains uncertain, saying there is still much to work through and that they do not yet know what comes next.
Ethan has been at the center of several high-profile online disputes in recent years, including public conflicts with Hasan Piker and Ian “iDubbbz” Jomha. The disputes have frequently crossed over into the wider world of Twitch and online streaming culture.
His production company also brought a copyright lawsuit against streamer Denims over her reaction to an H3 video. In June 2026, a federal judge granted Denims’ motion for judgment on the pleadings, finding that her use of the material qualified as fair use.
As of the writing of this report, Ethan Klein has not publicly responded to Hila Klein’s allegations. The details of the alleged affair have not been independently confirmed.
