    A bright or unusual video cover is the first thing that viewers pay attention to. Often users click on a video because they like the cover. Create youtube thumbnail is simple, you need to know a few basic rules for this, and then the video will definitely gain millions of views.

    How to process it?

    There are two types of covers that always attract attention. The first is a close-up of the face. The second is the covers with beautiful interiors or expensive things:

    • cars;
    • clothes;
    • gadgets.

    Users have always been and will be interested to find out how and what other people live. Covers with faces and things play on this desire.

    It is better not to use fake images or stock photos. Users want to see the same on the cover as in the video. If you trick them, they’ll leave.

    Video headline

    The second thing the user pays attention to when choosing a video. From the title, he learns the topic and details, after that he decides whether to watch the video or not.

    The title should consist of one or two short sentences. It is approximately 30-35 characters with spaces. YouTube will display the entire title underneath the video. If it is longer, then part of the phrase is cut off and the meaning may be lost.

    Use keywords in titles. It is very important because the user will pay attention to the necessary phrases.

    Sometimes you can use clickbait – emotional headlines, exaggeration, a promise to give out some kind of secret. You need to be careful with clickbait: if the video does not contain the promised content, users will close it, increasing the failure rate. After that, the video ranks worse in the search and gains fewer views.

    Description

    The description should briefly describe what the video is about. You can add links to services mentioned in the video, timestamps – timecodes, useful materials or other content to it.

    Be sure to use keywords from the title and additional keywords in the description. Do not put them separately, but embed them in the main text. It will help raise the video in the search results.

    If you have videos that overlap on a topic, link to them in the description. There is a chance that users will follow them, and the views of the channel will increase.

    Hashtags

    Hashtags are keywords that are registered in the YouTube settings when adding a video. Users do not see them, but they help determine to whom and for what requests to show the video. With hashtags, there is a chance that there will be more views.

    Hashtags should be relevant – consist of keywords.

    Hints

    If there are too many hints, they become annoying. It leads to the fact that the user closes the video without watching it to the end. To prevent this from happening, add hints when you need to communicate something important or remind you of another video on the topic.
