Twelve strangers wake up in a clearing. They don’t know where they are — or how they got there. In the shadow of a dark internet conspiracy theory, ruthless elitists gather at a remote location to hunt humans for sport. But their master plan is about to be derailed when one of the hunted, Crystal, turns the tables on her pursuers.
The Hunt is not the first film to portray humans hunting humans as that has been done before in films such as The Most Dangerous Game and Surviving the Game and even to an extent The Running Man starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, which portrayed humans hunting humans on a game show. The Hunt stars Betty Gilpin as Crystal, Emma Roberts, Ike Barinholtz, Emma Roberts, Amy Madigan and Hilary Swank.
The film is directed by Craig Zobel and Lost co-creator/showrunner Damon Lindelöf is producing.
