On top of some pretty cool looking cover art we also get a small synopsis of Prodigy which reads as follows; “In PRODIGY, Edison Crane’s not content being the world’s smartest man and most successful businessman—his brilliant mind needs to be constantly challenged. He’s a Nobel Prize-winning scientist, genius composer, Olympic athlete, an expert in the occult, and international governments call on him to fix problems they just can’t handle.” To accompany the short description we get a really cool image of Edison Crane and the first 5 pages of issue #1 can be read on Deadline right now and I highly recommend you check them out.

So what are my thoughts on Prodigy and Edison Crane from what I’ve seen? Honestly, I’m seriously excited about this comic book. I’m a huge fan of grounded action thrillers and I think that’s what we need right now on the comic book scene with so many out-there comics such as the Sandman universe coming out. Sometimes you just need so good old fashioned action and that’s what Prodigy looks to deliver. Im getting some major James Bond vibes from Edison and Miller himself has already proven how well he can handle the “Spy” genre with Eggsy from Kingsman and now in his own words he gets to “create the character that outshines everything else I’ve ever done and that’s Edison Crane.”

I have no doubt that Prodigy will be a success especially with Mack Millers fantastic track record in the comics industry writing so many of his own fantastic characters as well as writing some of the biggest-selling books of this generation during his time at Marvel, and writing Superman Red SOn which still remains the best selling Superman graphic novel to this date.

If you’re interested in picking up Prodigy and checking it out issue #1 will be available on Wednesday, December 5th. The final order cutoff deadline for comics retailers is Monday, November 12th. There will be no second printings so get in there quick, and the item will be fully returnable to comic shop retailers. If you prefer reading your comic books digitally then fear not, Prodigy #1 will also be available for purchase across many digital platforms, including the official Image Comics iOS app, Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play. So, are you excited for Prodigy issue #1, and will you be picking it up come December 5th? Lets us know your thoughts on it down below in the comments or over on Twitter.
