Scott D’Amore made headlines just hours ago with the signing of 19-year-old UK Sensation Leon Slater.

Who is Leon Slater?

“The Youngest In Charge” Leon Slater debuted in 2019 and, almost immediately, UK fans made comparisons to the early years of Will Ospreay. When IMPACT announced Slater’s signing, Ospreay was one of the first to speak out in support of Slater.

Slater has also drawn positive comparisons to another teenage phenomenon, Nick Wayne. The athletically gifted Slater has become a major draw in British professional wrestling circles. He has shown the ability at such a young age to keep pace with veterans like Will Ospreay, Speedball Mike Bailey, Frankie Kazarian, Lio Rush, and GCW World Champion Blake Christian.

If the return of TNA means finding the future young stars of wrestling then it has started well. Signing Leon Slater to a multi-year contract not only shows faith in this young star, but also a commitment to building the future of professional wrestling. Leon Slater seems eager to learn and a willingness to work hard. He has the support of industry veterans and his contemporaries behind him. Ceilings may not exist for a talent like Leon Slater.
