Indie Film ‘Small Engine Repair’ Releases First Trailer: That Took a Dark Turn

I love a good indie film. Especially one that intrigues me from the trailer alone. That is what Small Engine Repair did. Yes, yes, it has Jon Bernthal in it so of course, I’m going to watch it. But, still, watch the trailer.

I love the eerie turn that this trailer made. You think that the movie is going to be some feel-good fluff film and it slowly twists that sentiment and completely goes in the different direction. From what I can gather, Small Engine Repair originates from a play written by John Pollono and originally produced in 2011. It apparently explores the themes of “regret, fraternity, and toxic masculinity”.

I’m looking forward to it. It’s a 2020 SXSW Film Festival movie and when I find out a definitive release date, I will let you know.

What do you think about the trailer for Small Engine Repair?
