With sales for Marvel’s Spider-Man on the PlayStation 4 continuing to peak around the world and the continuous praise it receives from critics and gamers alike, the inevitable question was “When is the sequel?” While this may seem premature at this early stage, gamers are not known for patience when they are presented with a great game. Although when asked, Insomniac Games didn’t confirm a sequel just yet, they sure did hint at the possibility of it.

While discussing the game with IGN, Creative Director Bryan Intihar emphasized the importance of player engagement, but stopped purposely short from revealing a sequel announcement. That being said, almost any gamer who has played the game would be genuinely be shocked and disappointed if it didn’t happen. Intihar told the site:

“Nothing to announce [regarding a sequel] but we obviously want to keep you engaged in our Spider-Man universe. That’s why we said right off the bat you’re going to have three drops of DLC. It’s not just activities in the city, this is a full story. You’re going to be able to get a pretty chunky, new experience.”

While not a confirmation of a sequel, it is apparent that there is some exciting DLC’s to look forward to. The Black Cat DLC has been confirmed so he he did touch a little more on what gamers can expect as  Intihar explained:

“You’re going to see some twists and turns you might not expect with Spider-Man and Black Cat. And then that will set up the other two that will be released before the end of the year.”

With the upcoming DLC’s, fans of Marvel’s Spider-Man have a few things to keep them engaged until the inevitable sequel does come out.
