[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”29649″ img_size=”718×359″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]It was recently reported that Robert Downey Jr. would pop up in the upcoming Black Widow movie. Despite sacrificing himself at the end of Avengers: Endgame, Tony Stark would be alive during the Black Widow film considering it takes place after Civil War. Of course, some are wondering if it’s wrong for Black Widow to be sold on the basis of Iron Man, but it is rumored that it won’t be new footage that we’ll be seeing.
According to Comicbook.com, Tony’s scene could be deleted footage from Captain America: Civil War. It could be one that was not included in the special features, but has been screened at public events. The scene includes Natasha Romanoff and Tony Stark confronting each other after Tony’s final fight with Bucky. In it, Natasha tells Tony “we played this wrong”. Tony then tells Natasha to run. It would tie in, considering in Civil War Natasha was initially on Tony’s side. She then aided Captain America and the Winter Soldier by stalling Black Panther so the two could leave. In Avengers: Infinity War, we did not see Natasha living without consequences by the law. Instead, she was a fugitive, with Cap and Sam Wilson. Natasha fleeing the consequences/fallout of Civil War is a good place to have her in the Black Widow movie.
This also could be why perhaps Natasha initially hooks back up with her old Russian crew. Either not knowing where to go at first, or not knowing how to find Cap initially; this could lead her back to the “family” she had before her Avengers family. Either way, it’s an interesting theory.
Black Widow hits theaters on May 1, 2020.
