It seems like Disney is testing out a new watch party feature with Disney Plus subscribers. According to some screenshots on a Disney Plus subreddit, subscribers will be able to create small private watch parties. Which, will allow up to six people to join. You can see below that a new icon will appear on a title that allows a GroupWatch function.
According to The Verge, GroupWatch is being tested out in Canada for some Disney+ subscribers. According to The Verge again, this is a feature that is expected to roll out in other markets this coming fall. This isn’t the first time a feature like this has been used. Amazon Prime allowed for a Watch Party that could handle up to 100 viewers.
What do you think about Disney+ having a watch party feature?
