James McAvoy and Claire Foy to Star in Remake ‘My Son’

My Son is an upcoming missing person thriller and has nabbed James McAvoy and Claire Foy for the lead roles. The upcoming film comes from ErosSTX Global Corp. It’s a remake of the 2017 French film Mon Garcon. French director Christian Carion will direct the adaptation. He helmed the original 2017 movie.

McAvoy will play the father whose son goes missing. This leads his character to travel to a town where his ex-wife lives. Foy will play the ex that will have answers to this mystery. According to reports, McAvoy will not be given a script or dialogue. This is to help drive home the authenticity of a man who doesn’t know what is ahead of him. Knowing how talented McAvoy is, he will do a great job improvising.

Adam Fogelson, the chairman of the STXfilms Motion Picture Group, stated:

“James will be doing the detective work of the film in real time, on camera, to create real tension for this thriller. We like to support bold and innovative storytelling like My Son, and Claire could not be a more spectacular or exciting choice for this film which is certain to thrill audiences.”

What do you think about the concept behind My Son?
