Halloween grossed $76 million opening weekend and broke multiple records becoming the second biggest opening in the month of October after Venom making $80 million and it is the biggest Halloween film of all time. You don’t have to take my word for it, the horror queen Jamie Lee Curtis talks about a lot of the records Halloween (2018) broke. With this success who wouldn’t want more Halloween films. If they keep going on like this the franchise might be rejuvenated. Jason Blum talked to The Wrap.
“It’s hard to make a great movie, period, and I always say, make a great movie first and we’ll figure out a franchise after, Of course we would want to make a sequel, in fact, we’re dying to make a sequel, but we’re guests in Malek Akkad’s house so there are a lot of people that have to be in the same mindset as us. Nothing’s been set in stone, but we’re certainly going to try.”
I love his comment on, “make a great movie first and we’ll figure out a franchise.” This is something Warner Bros should learn and I’m beginning to think they’re learning this, but I digress Halloween deserves a sequel.
What do you all think about Halloween? Does it deserve a sequel?
