Disney+ is continuing their efforts to offer original programming and films. To that end, it has been announced that Sharon McGuire, best known for directing the Bridget Jones movies, is helming the feature film comedy, GodMothered. It will star Jillian Bell and Isla Fisher.
GodMothered tells the tale of a young and untested fairy godmother (Bell) who decides to go out on her own to prove herself. Her intention is to accomplish this by tracking down a young girl whose initial request for help was passed over. What she soon discovers is that the young girl has now become a grown woman (Fisher). She also realizes that she is in need of something very different than her original request for a “prince charming.”
The film is set for production in late January in Boston. Jessica Virtue and Allison Erlikman are overseeing for Disney from a script by Kari Granlund and Melissa Stack.
Are you excited that Disney+ is continuing to look at original content in addition to their library of classics? Does GodMothered seem like a film you would be interested in? Share your thoughts on the possibility with us at GeekVibesNation.
