Jim Lee Is Excited For The Future of The DCEU

While attending this weekends C2E2 event, DC Comics one Jim Lee, shared his enthusiasm for the future of DC including the DCEU. Here is what Lee had to say during the panel

“We’ve been working on the slate, We have an amazing Batman movie, Suicide Squad is just killer, and Black Adam next year. These are all just next year with Wonder Woman ’84, which has tremendous momentum from the first movie that was amazing.

“So there’s a lot of great positive things happening as that universe continues to move on. I think next year will be the first time ever that we’ll have three theatrical releases in one year. And Walter Hamada’s in charge of DC Films. He’s a great partner. Loves DC. Super creative. Great relationships with filmmakers. So we’re very positive and hopeful for the future of the DC Extended Universe.”

2020s first comic book film out the gate was a DC film, Birds of Prey, which has been a hit with fans and critics but has not really delivered at the box office as some hoped it would. Despite all that Lee remains very optimistic for the future. Lee even seems to confirm the DCEU even though he doesn’t call it the DCEU.

The next film up is Patty Jenkins Wonder Woman 1984 which fans are overly hyped for. James Gunn just wrapped production on The Suicide Squad and Matt Reeves is currently filming The Batman.
