John Carpenter Gives Update on Blumhouse Developed Reboot of ‘The Thing’

Director John Carpenter took a moment during an online Masterclass Q&A panel to talk about a beloved film of his. According to Carpenter, 1982’s The Thing is the move he’s most proud of. Then, he offered an update on the franchise. Vaguely mentioned a Blumhouse reboot, state:

“I think [Jason Blum’s] gonna be working on The Thing. Rebooting The Thing. I may be involved with that. Maybe. Down the road.”

It was reported in January that Universal Studios and Blumhouse Productions were going to develop a remake of The Thing. This reboot will adapt the long lost pages of the class original 1938 Who Goes There?. The long lost pages have been titled Frozen Hell.
