Supergirl has cast its Lex Luthor and it’s not who people were ever expecting.
Jon Cryer, most recently known for his role on Two and a Half Men; was announced as the iconic Superman supervillain for the upcoming season of CW’s Supergirl. There has been a lot of skepticism around this decision, but Cryer is getting the full support of the actor who everyone now so popularly associates with the character.

Rosenbaum played the well-known antagonist during the Smallville series from 2001 to 2011 and has not only been one of the most popular adaptations of the character, but it seems Rosenbaum has been wanting to play the character again for some time. Still, it seems that Cryer was a “dream casting” for the show’s showrunners and although the actor is mostly known for more light-hearted performances, remember that there are plenty of actors who were doubted before killing it on the big and small screen.
