This will be the first live-action series within the Star Wars franchise to explore this narrative and also, Favreau has done wonders to the Iron Man franchise, so who wouldn’t want him coming in and adding his flair to this beloved world? In a recent interview, the director expressed how he had wanted to keep the show to the scale of the original movies and not want to skimp of substance.

“Since I wrote most of [The Mandalorian], I wrote it to fit within our volume, and in trying to keep the scale of it like the first Star Wars film, which was a relatively low-budget affair, even though the effects were spectacular.”

Even Avengers: Endgame director Joe Russo commented on the production value and visual effects of the series:

“It’s amazing. We went down there to say hi to Jon. Taika [Waititi] was directing an episode, so we went to hang out with them. Jon is always at the forefront of cutting edge tech, and he is shooting this in a way that no one has ever shot anything ever before. It’s pretty astounding.”

Are you looking forward to The Mandalorian and have you seen the trailer to Favreau’s The Lion King yet?
